Description
This is the perfect class for those of you who want to brush up on your technical dressmaking skills and get the chance to practice dressmaking techniques without having to make a full garment. It’s also ideal if you’re new to dressmaking and don’t know how to finish your garments yet. This means you’ll have the time and guidance to really perfect your sewing and concentrate on those elements that can prove tricky without practice!
You will learn
- Overcast seams, french seams, flat fell seams and bound seams
- Sewing perfect darts
- Understitching and Top Stitching
- Blind hems & rolled hems
WHAT’S INCLUDED
The class includes expert instruction, use of our Janome machines, tools, fabrics, threads etc plus tea, coffee and cake!
YOU NEED TO BRING
- Nothing, all materials are provided. You’re very welcome to bring a packed lunch and we can store it in our fridge, or you can visit our wonderful on-site cafe.
SKILL LEVEL
Confident Beginner (3)You do not need to have done any dressmaking before, but you do need to be comfortable using a sewing machine, sewing in a straight line and back stitching etc.
