We’ll cover all the skills and techniques you’ll need to leave with a fabulous finished pair of pyjama bottoms and get you started on your dressmaking journey!
Our sewing classes are relaxed and friendly, taking place at our beautiful studio at Holme Grange Craft Village in Wokingham, Berkshire. Students get to use our brand new digital Janome sewing machines and class sizes are capped to ensure everyone gets the time and attention they need.
We’re happy for children aged 11 + to attend this class as long as they’re comfortable with a sewing machine and are accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also partaking in the class.
What’s included?
The class includes expert instruction, use of the machines, tools, threads, elastic, interfacing etc and you’ll keep a copy of the PJ pattern and your chosen dress pattern so you can make them again outside the class. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided!
What you need to bring
You will need 2.5m of light to medium cotton fabric for your pyjama bottoms. We recommend cotton poplin, cotton lawn and brushed cottons. We keep a supply of these in the studio for students to purchase, so please contact us if you’re not sure or take a look here and order online in advance.
SKILL LEVEL
You need to be comfortable threading a sewing machine, winding a bobbin and sewing in straight lines. Ideally you’ll have sewn a few projects such as cushions or tote bags, such as on our Sewing Machine 101 class or Introduction to Sewing course.
